I have three daughters Liliana (3rd grade), Milina (2nd grade) and Leilani (kindergarten). My husband James (alumni of Plum) and I moved to Murrysville six years ago after spending about 10 years in Raleigh North Carolina. Currently I am the Vice President/Development Director for a local non-profit, Cuddles for Kids ® . While in North Carolina I was a high school Social Studies teacher, cheerleading and softball coach. Our three girls keep us very busy with activities, the favorite being swimming for the YMCA swim team. As a family we love to explore and try new things traveling through Pittsburgh and beyond. I am an alumnus of Ohio State (O.H.) and he of UPJ, loving all things Pitt. On fall Saturdays you can find us bickering to decide which flag is flying from the house and you can typically see the girls sporting gear from one of those teams.
I am excited to serve in this role of Co-President on the PTO of the Intermediate school. As a former teacher I know how impactful it can be to have the support of the families whose kids you are teaching daily and I look forward to being a bridge between those groups. In previous years I have chaired and worked on multiple committees in the PTO including Bake Sale, Display Cases and Welcome & New Student Committees. I am excited to continue to work together as a team with all volunteers for the good of our students, teachers and community.
I am committed to cultivating inclusiveness where not only is everyone welcome, but their ideas are heard and valued. And if for any reason you feel that you aren’t being heard or valued please reach out to me directly.
My name is Lori Fitzgerald, and I am excited to be a part of the PTO this year! My husband Steve and I have two children - Megan, who is an 8th grader dedicated to dance, and Ryan, who is a 5th grader focused on baseball and playing percussion in the band. I'm glad that Ryan will have one year in the new Intermediate Building before he goes to the Middle School. I am a mechanical engineer by degree, but have been a stay-at-home parent for a number of years, spending much time volunteering. I love photography and I can often be found snapping pictures wherever I am. I was a part of Heritage Elementary PTO for 8 years, serving as secretary, president, and vice president. My favorite event I've led with the PTO was Family Science Night. I look forward to helping to make the new PTO better than ever!
My daughter Adalyn will be a third grader this year. Our family (husband Ryan) moved to Murrysville 6 years ago. Adalyn is what I call a "mover." She constantly has us jogging, hiking, biking. She loves all things sports - has tried just about everything out there - her favorites now are soccer, basketball, and swim. We are a family of "helpers" who support and volunteer with a variety of charitable organizations. Being a "helper" carries over into my PTO role, I have enjoyed chairing and working on multiple committees at Sloan. The book fair is one of Adalyn's and my favorite, we love to read and grow our at home library! Outside of school life, I am an Office Manager at FedEx.
I am excited to work together this upcoming school year, supporting our teachers (who do such an amazing job inspiring, motivating, and educating our kiddos) and organizing fun events for the students at a brand new school!
I have 3 boys in the FRSD: Tommy 7th grade, Zachary 5th grade and Michael 2nd grade. My husband Chaz and I have been in Murrysville for about 10 years after living in NYC for 10 years post college. We are from the Pittsburgh area originally and we met as students at Pitt. We are an active sports family and you will find us at a different field 7 days a week.
I work full time as Corporate Controller for a division of Bechtel that is a defense contractor for the Navy. I’m also a CPA but don’t ask me tax questions, my concentration is in financial reporting and more importantly leading people. Prior to this role I was the Newlonsburg PTO Treasurer for three years. In addition I am on the FRAA Board as Treasurer and I just completed a long six year term on the MASA Board as Treasurer. I have extensive experience as a Treasurer in a variety of youth sports and school organizations and I look forward to contributing my skills to the FR Intermediate School PTO during this very exciting time in our community.
Hi! I'm Jarid Shipley and I along with my wife Kate are excited to be a part of the PTO this year. I have two children, Isaac, third grade, and Tessa, first grade. Our family is involved with the SPY swim team (I recently got certified as a swim official) and we enjoy being outside, especially going skiing during the winter months. Well, I should say Kate and the kids enjoy skiing and I enjoy helping them ski. I am an avid baseball fan and also serve as a little league and high school umpire. Our family moved to Murrysville from Edgewood 5 years ago. I am especially excited to support our teachers and school district because I was a high school history and financial education teacher for almost a decade before switching to the non-profit sector. Now I manage a team of housing counselors for NeighborWorks Western PA, helping educate people on budgets and their finances, but my favorite topic is helping people understand the process to buy a house.
